Puure® Faucet Filter

Installation Guide

Install your Puure filter in just a few minutes. This page walks you through every step, from identifying your faucet type to flushing your cartridge for the first time.

Tip: Keep this page open while you install—most issues (like small leaks) are solved by using the correct adapter + sealing ring.

What’s in your starter kit

Before installation, take one minute to check that everything is included. This ensures a smooth setup with no surprises.

Your kit includes:

Puure filter body (host) — medical-grade stainless steel
Adapters + sealing rings (for most faucet types)
2 Puure cartridges (one pre-installed + one spare)

STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION

Installing your Puure filter takes only a few minutes and requires no technical skills. Follow the steps below carefully to ensure optimal performance and a leak-free installation.

Step 1: Identify Your Faucet Type

Female thread faucet (internal thread)

Your aerator screws into the faucet. This means the threads are inside the faucet tip.

You will typically need a male-thread adapter (provided in your kit) to connect the Puure filter.

Quick check: Unscrew your aerator and look at the faucet end—if you see threads inside, it’s a female-thread faucet.

Male thread faucet (external thread)

Your aerator screws onto the faucet. This means the threads are outside the faucet tip.

If your faucet is standard M22, the Puure filter may fit directly. If it doesn’t, choose the correct adapter from your kit.

Quick check: If you can see threads on the outside of the faucet tip, it’s a male-thread faucet.

Step 2: Choose the Right Adapter

Start by removing your current aerator.

Can’t unscrew it? That’s completely normal. Some aerators are very tight and may require a tool. Simply fill out the short form by clicking the “Get Installation Help” button below and our team will help you step by step.

If you successfully removed the aerator, then:

If you have a standard M22 male thread: try screwing the Puure filter directly onto the faucet.
If it doesn’t fit: try the adapters provided in your kit (always insert a sealing ring to prevent leaks).

If none of the included adapters work, use the same “Get Installation Help” form below so we can identify the right adapter for you.

Tip: Never force the threads. If it doesn’t screw on smoothly, stop and try a different adapter.

Step 3: Install the Filter (Host)

Install the Filter

Follow these steps to install your Puure filter securely on your faucet.

Remove the aerator from your faucet.
Check the faucet thread for limescale or dirt. Clean if necessary.
If your faucet is not standard M22, install the correct adapter + sealing ring (Step 2).
Open the filter and remove the plastic protection from the cartridge, then reinsert it correctly.
Make sure the sealing ring is in place before tightening the adapter or the filter.
Screw the Puure filter onto your faucet or the adapter. Tighten firmly by hand to prevent leaks.
Position the filter facing forward or to the right so the lever is easy to reach.

Do not screw the filter on at an angle (avoid cross-threading).

If needed, use pliers with a cloth or protective jaws to loosen the aerator or slightly tighten the host—never over-tighten.

A snug seal is enough. Forcing the threads can damage the faucet or adapter.

Step 4: Flush & Verify the Installation

Flush the Cartridge

This first flush activates the cartridge and removes harmless carbon fines.

Confirm the Puure filter is firmly attached and properly aligned.
Before turning on water, set the lever to the vertical position (Unfiltered mode).
Move the lever to the horizontal position (Filtered mode).
Slowly turn on cold water.
Let water run for 5 minutes to flush and activate the cartridge.
Check all connections for leaks. Your Puure filter is now ready to use.

Important: A small amount of black carbon dust may appear during the first flush. This is completely normal and will clear after a few minutes.

CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT FREQUENCY

Replace cartridges according to your subscription schedule.

As a general guideline, replace the cartridge after about 3 months of use, or sooner if flow rate drops significantly.

If the filter hasn’t been used for 3 months, replace the cartridge before using it again.

Used cartridges can be disposed of with regular household waste.

Recycling Option

Puure offers recycling options for used cartridges.

Maintenance Tips

The Puure filter requires very little maintenance.

To remove limescale, use a vinegar-based cleaner on the outside surfaces.

Every 2 months, wipe any deposits inside the housing with a clean cloth or paper towel.

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

Read these instructions before installation and use.

Improper installation may cause leaks or damage. Puure cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from incorrect installation or misuse.

Maximum filtered-water temperature: 20°C (68°F).

Filter cold water only. Use hot water in unfiltered mode only.

Protect the filter from freezing temperatures.

Do not install on faucets with a pull-out sprayer or showerhead.

Replace the cartridge according to your subscription schedule (typically about every 3 months).

Replacing the cartridge earlier than expected is not a defect. It usually indicates higher levels of sediment or contaminants in your tap water.

With very cold supply water, condensation may form on the housing. This is normal and not a leak.

For complete certainty about water quality, have your filtered water tested by a qualified laboratory.

Use Puure cartridges only. Puure is not responsible for issues caused by third-party cartridges.

Warning: Follow local drinking-water regulations. In some regions, a system separator (backflow prevention device) may be required on potable water lines.

Before installation and first use, make sure you comply with the drinking-water and plumbing regulations in your country.
